Psychodynamic Counselling

Psychodynamic therapy is a collaborative journey that looks not only at what is happening in your life now, but also at how your past experiences may be shaping your feelings, thoughts, and relationships in the present. Many of these influences are unconscious, meaning they are not immediately obvious. Together, we can begin to explore with curiosity, opening the way to greater understanding and meaningful change.

At the heart of this work is the therapeutic relationship. What happens between us in the room can sometimes reflect patterns from your wider life, such as how you connect with others, how you protect yourself, or how you respond when feeling vulnerable. Talking through these moments can bring new insight and open up the possibility of relating to yourself and others in new ways.

My role is to offer a safe and supportive space where you can bring your whole self, including the parts you may feel unsure about or find difficult to share. There is no right or wrong way to begin. You set the pace, and together we can notice repeating patterns, understand the feelings underneath, and discover new ways of experiencing yourself and your relationships.

The psychodynamic approach is not about blaming your past; it is about understanding it so you can gain more choice in your present and future. It is a deep, meaningful process that fosters self-awareness and can lead to truly lasting change, transforming the underlying structure of how you experience the world. If you are ready for a journey of deep self-discovery, this approach offers a rich path forward.
